Day 2

Today in Terra Boa, we visited elementary and high schools and did services for the children. These services consisted of games, worship, a lesson, a drama, and most importantly loving on the children.

The elementary children were quite interested in our lesson, and participated greatly. They loved the attention we gave and the excitement was everywhere.  It's humbling to experience the love and acceptance they had for us knowing it was us who came here to manifest Christ's love to them. With every hug and smile, we too are reminded of the love that flows out when He is moving.

The high school was quite different. It was difficult not to become discouraged at their disinterest and mockery of our efforts to share Jesus with them. We constantly had to tell ourselves they've never been taught any different, and their actions were the very reason we were there. Our hearts grew for these people, and we longed to see them seek Jesus. Our prayers for them became intense and continuous and results were evident by the end of the evening. The last group of high school students we ministered to were more attentive than the previous groups. Although very few responded, we are sure that many seeds were planted. The quietness and thoughtfulness of the final service was motivating. The elementary children had an eagerness and hunger for Christ that wasn't being suppressed by pride and insecurities in the lives of the high schoolers.

Jesus is working greatly in Curitiba and it is exciting to see the hearts being drawn towards him.
